The view
In front of the old, white house, a weather beaten, loose hanging sign, warns people rather than welcomes. Unless you back close attention, you would not know this house's doors and windows are tightly shut. This place, is the Villisca Axe Murder House. "The walls still protect the identity of the murderer or murderers who bludgeoned the entire family of Josiah Moore and two over night guests on June 10th, 1912. Almost 101 years later, her secret continues to draw many visitors to her door." (Villisca Axe Murder House)

Where was the murder taken place?
This horrible murder took place in the rapidly prospering town of Villisca, Iowa. What was once country in that part of Villisca is now surrounded by houses, part of a small neighbor hood. Would anyone reading this be terrified to live next to this house, after knowing what happened?
The murder took place in the household of Josiah and Sarah Moore. Their four children, Herman, Katherine, Boyd, and Paul were also in the house that night, alone with two house guests, Ina and Lena Stillinger.
They say the murder and/or time of deaths for all eight persons in the household range from midnight, to 3 o'clock AM.
