WHAT IS THE HOUSE USED AS TODAY?
It is used as a haunted house, which attracts many tourists each year. You could be daring and stay in the night in the house, or you could just go in and look around. Either way, you'll get spooked.
After the murders in 1912, a couple other people owned and/or rented the house until finally it scared too many people and no one would stay there anymore. They were going to tear it down, since it was considered to be an eyesore to the town, and other towns were tormenting the school children every time they went to another town to play a game, they were tormented with the words "Axe Murder Town!" But, in 1998, the house was saved from being torn down when it was added to the list of the most historic places in the United States.
